Flash Game...

Hi guyz...
first of all... Happy New Year... ^^ hee hee hee..

Few days ago, when i was learning about flash, i found an interesting website which is http://flasharcade.com. I just knew that we can made a game with flash.. quite interesting rite?? :D:D:D maybe after i finished learning, i would like to try to make one. :P :P :P

basically the button symbol in flash can be quite useful for this type of flash. Because it provides interaction with the user. So, the user can make inputs instead of watching an interesting graphics.. ^^

hmm... me myself hasn't known much about flash either. Soooo... ill read some more things about flash and continue this posting.

Blu-ray Disc

Just found an interesting article about a new disc technology.. ^^

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD) is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. A single-layer Blu-ray Disc can hold 25GB, which can be used to record over 2 hours of HDTV or more than 13 hours of standard-definition TV. There are also dual-layer versions of the discs that can hold 50GB.

While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM use a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray. Despite the different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards compatible through the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup and allow playback of CDs and DVDs. The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB.

With the rapid growth of HDTV, the consumer demand for recording HD programming is quickly rising. Blu-ray was designed with this application in mind and supports direct recording of the MPEG-2 TS (Transport Stream) used by digital broadcasts, which makes it highly compatible with global standards for digital TV. This means that HDTV broadcasts can be recorded directly to the disc without any quality loss or extra processing. To handle the increased amount of data required for HD, Blu-ray employs a 36Mbps data transfer rate, which is more than enough to record and playback HDTV while maintaining the original picture quality. In addition, by fully utilizing an optical disc's random accessing features, it's possible to playback video on a disc while simultaneously recording HD video.

Blu-ray is expected to replace VCRs and DVD recorders with the transition to HDTV over the coming years. The format is also likely to become a standard for PC data storage and HD movies in the future.

Java Server Pages (JSP)..

Last time when i was surfing the internet, i found a rather interesting article about html technology. It talked about Java Server Pages (JSP).

Basically, JSP is a technology that lets you mix regular, static HTML with dynamically-generated HTML. Many Web pages that are built by CGI programs are mostly static, with the dynamic part limited to a few small locations. But most CGI variations, including servlets, make you generate the entire page via your program, even though most of it is always the same. JSP lets you create the two parts separately.

Advantages

vs. Active Server Pages (ASP)
ASP is a similar technology from Microsoft. The advantages of JSP are twofold. First, the dynamic part is written in Java, not Visual Basic or other MS-specific language, so it is more powerful and easier to use. Second, it is portable to other operating systems and non-Microsoft Web servers.

vs. Pure Servlets
JSP doesn't give you anything that you couldn't in principle do with a servlet. But it is more convenient to write (and to modify!) regular HTML than to have a zillion println statements that generate the HTML. Plus, by separating the look from the content you can put different people on different tasks: your Web page design experts can build the HTML, leaving places for your servlet programmers to insert the dynamic content.

vs. Server-Side Includes (SSI)
SSI is a widely-supported technology for including externally-defined pieces into a static Web page. JSP is better because it lets you use servlets instead of a separate program to generate that dynamic part. Besides, SSI is really only intended for simple inclusions, not for "real" programs that use form data, make database connections, and the like.

vs. JavaScript
JavaScript can generate HTML dynamically on the client. This is a useful capability, but only handles situations where the dynamic information is based on the client's environment. With the exception of cookies, HTTP and form submission data is not available to JavaScript. And, since it runs on the client, JavaScript can't access server-side resources like databases, catalogs, pricing information, and the like.

vs. Static HTML
Regular HTML, of course, cannot contain dynamic information. JSP is so easy and convenient that it is quite feasible to augment HTML pages that only benefit marginally by the insertion of small amounts of dynamic data. Previously, the cost of using dynamic data would preclude its use in all but the most valuable instances.

I thought it quite usefull to learn JSP... ^^

Hmm... hmmm... lets talk about fun. ^^
Fun for me is the time when i do something interesting and i really enjoy doing that.
Something like going to beach with my friends or just hanging out to a cafe or just having a good conversation with somebody.

Maybe for some people, fun may cost hundreds bucks or wasting so much time or spending it with a "right" person. But, what i think is we could have fun just anytime and anywhere as long as we beeing a fun person ourselves. ^__^ that what i was thought. I realized this thing just recently.

I am an Indonesian student, away from my family and my best friends.. i was really having a good time with them in my hometown. so, when i first came here, what i thought was im never feel fun anymore, because i was gone here for study, study, study... away from my homes. T.T of course living here is very busy and tiring. But, when i only got 15 minutes between my busy schedule and i snapped to take a rest while listening to my favourite songs, i felt soooo fuuuunnn..... ^^ like drinking a fresh water when we are very thirsty. ^__^

so, juz be fun 4 ourselves.. :P
